Hello, World!
It’s been a while since I have had a site of my own (that is, of course, only if you don’t count a consulting site, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc. etc.). According to the Internet Wayback Machine, the last time I had a site with any substantial content (and I use the term substantial very, very loosely) was in August of 2008, and at that time, the content was already six years old.
Have I established I have a bad track record?
I have kept hearing about this site generator called Hugo, and wanted to see what all the buzz was about. As it turns out, Hugo ticks a lot of boxes of things that are important to me: easy-to-install, easy-to-use, fast, and content is all edited in Markdown.
My consulting site is a functioning Dancer2 app, and not wanting to take a working site down for experimentation, I decided to resuscitate my long-dead personal site (is it now undead)? So welcome back to cromedome.net. Hopefully, I will not make you sorry.
So, what’s next?
I have no idea, honestly. I will likely post here from time to time, but don’t expect much, and don’t expect it often. But what you will get are posts that revolve around software development, technology, books, flying, or hockey. I won’t discuss politics or religion here - they are too polarizing of topics, and I’d really enjoy not getting into heated debates with anyone about those items.
Cheers!
