About
Software developer by day, hockey player and pilot by night, I try my best to lead a life of adventure and intrigue (and fail most days).
I spent twenty years doing software development for local government, and in doing so, co-founded DEVNET, Inc. in 1997. While I have many great memories of my time there, I needed to move on to seek different challenges and experiences.
Since then, I’ve rounded myself out in a number of ways. I worked as an independent contractor, been a developer on an MMORPG, developed security tools at a large hosting provider, led a development team at a subsidiary of a Fortune 500 insurance company, developed open source software commercially, and worked on custom built ERP solutions. These days, I work at Foundant Technologies on Community Suite, an accounting and ERP system for community foundations.
I always have a side project or ten going on, and sometimes I turn them into companies. I am a serial entrepreneur, and constantly in search of new ways to change and better the world.
While originally an Illinois native, I left behind the high cost of living and crappy weather for the south. Once a resident of Charlotte, North Carolina, I now reside in Little Washington. Like so many others before me, I wish I would have made this move long before I did.
